You are invited to attend a piano recital organised by the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) France in St George’s Anglican Church on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 19h30.
Founded in 1927 the RSCM is an ecumenical Christian charity whose educational mission is to encourage and inspire the good use of sacred music in Christian worship. RSCM France provides support to affiliated choirs, schools and organisations of all denominators and organises recitals, concerts and events such as singing and training weekends.
As part of its ‘Helping Hands V’ project RSCM France will be organising a recital that features compositions by masters such as J.S. Back and F. Busconi as well as their pieces, including ‘Choral Preludes’ and performed by the young Turkish pianist Eser Öktem. At the age of ten he was able to enter the Conservatory of Hacettepe University, Ankara. Now he studies at the Bilkent University Convervatory in Turkey.
You will have the opportunity to support the valuable work of RSCM France by making a voluntary donation (suggested €15-20 for the evening). Food and refreshments will be provided.
The recital will be held at 19h30 on Monday, April 29 in St George’s Anglican Church at 7, rue Auguste Vacquerie, 75016. The nearest métro stations are George V, Etoile and Kléber.
RSCM France President John Crothers also informs us of a residential singing weekend that they are organising for June 21-23, 2013. Under the leadership of the major UK composer of church music, John Barnard, you will be able to experience and sing different types of psalms, hymns and songs. There will be practical sessions, services, and an informal concert. The weekend will be held in the Renouveau Holiday Village, Roquebrune-sur-Argens in the Var.
Full details of both of the recital and the singing weekend are on the www.rscmfrance.org website.
